Doug began his career with Batten Shaw Construction in 1996 shortly after graduating from Middle Tennessee State University, and has been a cornerstone of the company’s growth ever since. Over the years, he has built a reputation for steady leadership, deep technical knowledge, and a calm, solutions-focused approach to project delivery.

As Project Executive, Doug draws on his decades of experience to mentor and guide Batten Shaw’s project management teams—shaping the next generation of leaders while continuing to oversee several of the company’s most strategic and complex projects. Known for his steady hand and collaborative spirit, Doug plays a vital role in ensuring excellence from planning to closeout.

Outside the office, Doug is an avid traveler and outdoorsman who finds inspiration exploring new places and wide-open landscapes. He enjoys hiking in the mountains, visiting national parks across the country, and spending quiet time immersed in nature. He’s also passionate about personal finance and investing—applying the same strategic mindset to life that he brings to every project.

Jackson joined Batten Shaw Construction with more than 20 years of experience managing and directing high-profile projects across the country. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for his strategic mindset, client-first approach, and ability to lead complex initiatives from concept to completion with confidence and clarity.

As Project Executive, Jackson plays a key role in expanding Batten Shaw’s presence across new market sectors and cultivating meaningful partnerships with both new and long-standing clients. His leadership is rooted in a deep understanding of project lifecycles, strong relationship-building skills, and a forward-thinking approach to growth and opportunity.

Away from the jobsite, Jackson enjoys cheering on his 14-year-old twin daughters from the sidelines of the soccer field and spending weekends unwinding on the lake with his family—moments that keep him grounded, inspired, and recharged for the work ahead.

Jimmy began his career with Batten Shaw Construction in 1995 as an Assistant Superintendent. Over the years, he steadily advanced through the ranks—serving as Project Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, and ultimately being named Director of Field Operations. His progression is a testament to his deep expertise, strong leadership, and tireless work ethic.

In his current role, Jimmy oversees all field personnel across Batten Shaw’s active projects nationwide. He plays a critical role in ensuring jobsite excellence, operational consistency, and team performance. A dedicated mentor, Jimmy is especially passionate about developing the next generation of field leaders—sharing the knowledge and values that have shaped his own journey.

When he’s not on a jobsite or leading teams, Jimmy enjoys time outdoors—most often hunting, fishing, or making memories with his family. These moments keep him grounded and fuel his commitment to both hard work and meaningful connection.

Shawn is passionate about helping people see what’s possible when great ideas and strong partnerships come together. A proud graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Engineering, Shawn built a solid foundation in construction and preconstruction services, gaining 10 years of hands-on experience before joining Batten Shaw in 2006.

In his role as Manager of Marketing and Innovation, Shawn works closely with every department to bring fresh ideas and creative solutions to life. He focuses on developing marketing strategies and innovative programs that not only support our projects but also strengthen the way we connect with our clients and communities.

What Shawn enjoys most is collaborating with people—whether it’s helping a team share their story, finding new ways to improve client experiences, or exploring how innovation can make construction more impactful. Guided by our mission of “building to make life better,” Shawn is always looking for ways to make a positive difference, both inside and outside the company.

When he’s not at work, you’ll likely find Shawn pushing his limits at the gym, lending a helping hand through volunteer work at his church, or diving into hands-on projects around the house—always finding new ways to stay active, give back, and create something meaningful.

Chris joined Batten Shaw Construction in 2016, bringing with him over 35 years of experience as a licensed CPA. Throughout his career, he has worked across a wide range of industries and markets, developing a deep understanding of financial strategy, operational performance, and business growth.

As Controller, Chris plays a key role in guiding the financial direction of the company. He provides in-depth analysis of Batten Shaw’s nationwide operations and delivers strategic financial insights to both Executive and Senior Management Teams. Chris is known for his collaborative, coaching-driven approach—working side by side with Operations teams to strengthen performance, encourage transparency, and support smarter decision-making across the board.

Outside the office, Chris stays on his toes thanks to his two intelligent, creative, and multi-talented teenagers—who constantly keep him learning and laughing. He’s also earned the unofficial title of “dog and guinea pig whisperer,” a role he takes on with humor and heart.

Pam joined Batten Shaw Construction in 2025, bringing a people-first mindset and a passion for cultivating strong workplace culture. Working closely with the executive team, she plays a vital role in shaping the employee experience and ensuring Batten Shaw remains a place where individuals feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.

As Director of Human Resources, Pam leads efforts to strengthen team engagement, support professional growth, and foster a respectful, welcoming environment across the organization. Her approach is rooted in empathy, clear communication, and a firm belief that when people are at their best, so is the company.

Outside the office, Pam finds joy in entertaining family and friends—especially through cooking and crafting specialty desserts that bring people together and leave a lasting impression.

Mike began his career with Batten Shaw Construction in 2013 as an Estimator, quickly earning a reputation for his strong work ethic, attention to detail, and passion for precision. Through his dedication and drive, he rose to the role of Chief Estimator, where he now plays a vital role in shaping the success of our preconstruction efforts.

In his current role, Mike brings his years of experience to the table—not only managing a full preconstruction workload, but also mentoring and developing the next generation of estimators. He’s known for his hands-on leadership style, his ability to break down complex challenges, and his commitment to building both accurate budgets and strong internal teams.

Outside the office, Mike enjoys spending quality time with his wife and grandkids, often creating lasting memories during weekend visits and family gatherings. When it’s time to unwind, you’ll likely find him kayaking the great lakes and inland waterways, casting a line in search of the perfect catch, or playing a relaxed round of golf on a sunny afternoon.
